The Olympism Exhibition at the Downtown Market by Roald Bradstock
a.k.a. the “Olympic Picasso”
Roald Bradstock brings a unique traveling exhibition to the Downtown Market that showcases the creative talents of Olympic athletes who are also accomplished visual artists. This inspiring collection highlights the intersection of athleticism and creativity, showing how the spirit of the Games lives on through artistic expression.

Roald Bradstock is a two-time Olympic track and field athlete who competed at Los Angeles 1984 and Seoul 1988, and is a two-time Olympic artist, being involved at Sydney 2000 and PyeongChang 2018.
He is a former javelin record holder and holds dozens of world records for throwing a variety of bizarre objects, from vinyl records and iPods to cricket balls and golf balls.
In 2000, he won the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Sports Art Competition in the painting category with a piece entitled Struggle for Perfection. His painting went on to be exhibited at The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, as part of the cultural activities ahead of the Sydney Olympic Games.
Roald was a member of the IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission from 2017 to 2022. In 2018, he was appointed Chair of the newly formed World Olympians Association (WOA) Art Committee, called ‘OLY Arts’.
